The Inspire And Achieve Foundation
The Inspire and Achieve Foundation is a new charity established by Asha Khemka OBE, Principal and Chief Executive of West Nottinghamshire College. The Foundation aims to overcome the barriers that young people in the Mansfield and Ashfield area often face due to the significant decline of its industrial heritage. Young people in Mansfield are suffering disproportionately as a direct result of this decline; the limited educational attainment in the area so often results in young people being drawn into a life of low achievement and unemployment, further plunging the area into deprivation. The Foundation aims to break this cycle. We want to eradicate the poverty of aspiration that blights the lives of many of the young people in the area. We will offer these young people extra educational activities to encourage them to continue their education or seek the training to gain sustainable employment.
