Discovering Latin America
Discovering Latin America is a UK-based charitable organization formed by volunteers, with the aim of promoting Latin American culture and raising funds to finance development projects which help relieve poverty, sickness and distress in the region. This year DLA is launching an ambitious and exciting programme including the 7th edition of its annual Film Festival together, monthly Rhythms Nights events and the 2nd edition of our unique CASA Theatre Festival. Our aim is to raise more than £30,000 for two extraordinary initiatives back in Latin America: i) the purchase of new medical equipment and the launch of a well-being programme targeting women in rural communities of Nicaragua (Promujer®), and ii) an initiative focused on providing education, counselling and treatment for women with HIV or AIDS in the Dominican Republic (Progressio®). With your help, we are actively contributing to the transformation of Latin America.
