University Of California Trust (UK)
The University of California set up the University of California Trust (UK) to support its Education Abroad Program in the United Kingdom. The Trust became a registered British Charity (charity no. 1075405) in 1999. Approximately 700 students elect to come to Britain annually and study at any one of 31 host universities in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. In exchange, UK students spend a year at UC. Fundraising for students to participate on the Education Abroad program is our priority. The Allan Buch Memorial Scholarship Fund provides grants for students facing financial hardship. And, while awards will be made to students, beginning in the 2005-06 year, we hope that through the support of foundations and individuals we will be able to develop an endowment sufficient to meet the need.
