DEC Congo Crisis Appeal
A young boy flees from renewed fighting in Kibati. He hadn’t seen his mother or father for several days. He didn’t answer when asked his name. Many children have been placed with foster families while attempts are made to trace their own family. The DEC Congo(DR) Crisis Appeal will be open for donations until end May 2009. All appeal money received within the six months is restricted to the purpose of that appeal and would not be transferred. Any money received after six months goes to the next appeal fund.
DEC Disasters Emergency Committee
he Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) was formed in 1963. We are an umbrella organisation for 13 humanitarian aid agencies. At times of overseas emergency, the DEC brings together a unique alliance of the UK's aid, corporate, public and broadcasting sectors to rally the nation's compassion, and ensure that funds raised go to DEC agencies best placed to deliver effective and timely relief to people most in need. Transparency and accountability are the watchwords for our activities. The DEC trustees review how our members spend the money you donated, with results published on our website.
