Payroll Giving – Match Funding & Administration

Payroll Giving - Match Funding & Administration

Companies who operate a Payroll Giving scheme can support their employees by either matching donations or paying the Payroll Giving administration charge on their behalf - and it won't break the bank to show you care.

If your company wishes to match employees’ donations this can be done in several ways:

First time donations

An employer can select a particular time frame in which all new donors will receive a match on their first Payroll Giving donation

If an expected take up rate for Payroll Giving is high, the amount the first donation can be capped, for example: all new donors in the months of January to March will receive a match donation of up to £10 per person.

Ongoing donations

Some companies match their employees' donations on an ongoing basis;  simply add your own funds to your employees' donations before you send the money to Charities Trust each month and we will do the rest.

Paying the Payroll Giving administration levy on behalf of your employees

Charities Trust administration charge is just 25p per donation per month.  And this is regardless as to how many UK charities or recognised good causes the employee selects - it's still only 25p.

If the company has 100 employees’ giving through Payroll Giving, the annual support would only amount to £300 per annum.

Quality Mark

Paying the admin fee and/or matching donations is one of the criteria for being awarded a Gold Quality Mark Certificate in the annual Payroll Giving Awards

Costs

As the most cost effective agency in the Payroll Giving sector Charities Trust does not charge to set up or to administer these additional processes.

In addition both matched donations and payment of admin fees can be offset against Corporation Tax via Company Gift Aid
