The Household Cavalry Museum Appeal
About Us
The Household Cavalry Museum is
a living museum about real people doing a real job in a real place.
You can see troopers working with horses in the original 18th century
stables and hear first hand accounts of their rigorous and demanding
training.
The experience comes alive with compelling personal stories, interactive displays and stunning rare objects – many on public display for the first time.
Our Appeal
This appeal is to help the Household Cavalry establish, fund and expand the Life Guards Museum in Horse Guards Parade. This project is interesting, educational and certainly morale-boosting for all our valiant troops who have done so much to protect us, our liberties and way of life.
The Royal Oak Foundation www.royal-oak.org is the US memebership affiliate of the National Trust of the United Kingdom. It raises funds for the conservation of historic properties including houses and gardens in Britain and elsewhere and sponsors education programmes which address issues in conservation and preservation.
In 2003 the Board of Directors of the Royal Oak Foundation unanimously agreed to support the Appeal to create a Museum at the Household Cavalry's Headquarters at Horse Guards in London.
Donors based in the US should be aware that they can make fully tax-deductible gifts to support the Museum through a US dollar contribution to the foundation.
If you wish to help and make a donation, it will be greatly appreciated.
