Add 28% to your donation at no cost to you!
If you are a UK tax payer it is possible to increase the value of your donation by 28%!
If you are a UK tax payer it is possible to increase the value of your donation by 28% ( this includes HMRC paying a transitional relief supplement of 3% based on the qualifying donations in effect for 3 years up until 2011 due to recent tax changes in April 2008). All you have to do is make a Gift Aid declaration and this could not be easier on the Charities Trust site - you are prompted to do this whenever you make a donation and all you have to do is tick the box.
Charities Trust will reclaim the basic rate tax you have already paid and either send it to the charity or charities to which you have made a donation or add the Gift Aid to your Freedom Account.
Please note that Gift Aid cannot be claimed on payroll giving donations as these are already tax effective - the donor receives the tax benefit at source. If you would like to increase your payroll giving donation so that your charity receives the tax benefit please use the payroll giving calculator on the left hand side to work out what your gross donation should be.
To download a gift aid form please see the grey box on the left of this page.
