About I Love Payroll Giving...
I Love Payroll Giving is Charities Trust way to promote the benefits that donating through Payroll Giving provides to both the donor and the beneficiary(ies).
Payroll Giving is a flexible scheme which allows anyone who pays UK income tax to give regularly and on a tax free basis to the charities and good causes of their choice.
- Any donation will be deducted from your wages before you are assessed for tax
- In order for you to make pre-tax donations your employer will need to be registered with a Payroll Giving Agency such as Charities Trust. E mail Charities Trust if you would like to us to check if your employer already has a payroll giving scheme in place on info@charitiestrust.org
- Because Payroll Giving donations are pre-tax it actually costs you less to give please see the table below for examples. Alternatively you can usse the payroll giving calculator on this page to see how much your donation will be worth to your chosen charity and how much it will actually cost you.
- The only charge on your donation will be 25p to cover the costs of administration.

(*These figures are dependent on your employer paying the 25p administration charge.)
Once you have pledged your tax effective donation, you can split the donation to benefit as many charities as you wish. The administration charge is not affected and regardless of how many charities you choose the charge stays the same, for example you could donate £5.00 splitting it between five charities so they each receive £1.00 each. The administration charge is pro rata against the amount of charities chosen, each charity will receive 95p.
Why choose Charities Trust?
Charities Trust is the most cost effective agency in the UK and charges 25p per month to administer tax effective donations. Charities Trust encourages employers to pay the administration on behalf of their employees. If your employer does not do this, why not ask to see it they will give this small commitment, which in turn will support your chosen charity or good cause. How can I take part?
- You simply fill in a charity selection form nominating the charities you wish to give to. Download the Employee Payroll Giving Authorisation Form here or ask your employer for a form or use one supplied by a charity.
- The minimum donation is 25p per week (per charity) or £1.00 per month. There is no maximum.
- You can vary your choice of charity, change your selected charities at any time by simply informing Charities Trust by email.
- You can increase or decrease your donations or stop at any time by informing Charities Trust by email and informing your payroll department.
- Your employer may pay the administration fees and some employers also match employees' payroll giving donations, meaning your chosen charity(ies) receive even more money
