The Association brings together the members of the Association of Payroll Giving Agencies (APGA) and the Association of Payroll Giving Professional Fundraising Organisations (APGPFO) under one umbrella group. It unites knowledge and experience to support businesses and charities to set up, promote and develop their Payroll Giving schemes within the workplace.

Members of the Association provide a high quality of service to both business and the charity sector working to a strict code of practice. Its membership is made up of the UK's leading Payroll Giving Agencies (PGA) and Professional Fundraising Organisations (PFO).

Payroll Giving is the most tax effective way for an employee to donate to a charity of their choice. For a higher rate taxpayer, Payroll Giving is the only way that a charity can automatically receive all your tax on your charitable donation. Last year £109 million was raised for the charity sector through the scheme, providing a vital ongoing income stream for thousands of UK registered charities.

Additionally in the 2007/2008 tax year employer matching was worth more than £13million to charities on top of the donations made by employees.
