The Ebony Club is a Brixton-based charity I volunteer for who give local kids access to horseriding at various levels. It's a fantastic cause and they're hoping to set up their own stables in the area to provide even greater access to kids who really benefit from it.
The Ebony Horse Club enables the kids to spend time around animals and learn responsibilities and skills outside of an educational context - this really helps some of the kids who have experienced difficulties in mainstream education. They also get access to rural areas with our annual pony-trekking trips to Wales trips, which get them to enjoy an experience they may well not get a chance to do otherwise. The club is also involved in some other activities (rowing, for example) but the horse element is its primary focus.
So please give generously so my months spent pounding the mean streets of Streatham count for something!!
