My Personal Challenge
"I want to run across the UK, 135 miles, coast to coast in just 3 days - that's 45 miles a day - and I want to do it for charity!" Alan Boothroyd, 48, father of 2. "My kids think I'm crazy!"
About the JumbleAID Coast2Coast Challenge Run
At 48, Huddersfield born Alan Boothroyd is a seasoned long distance runner with a string of charity marathons and half marathons behind him. He is now in serious training for his greatest challenge to date, which is to run from the west coast seaside town of Blackpool on a 135-mile route to Bridlington on the east coast in order to raise at least £10,000 for charity.
The run will take place from the 25th to the 27th of September this year and will be run in aid of children's charity Barnardo's. The run is being organised by online charity fundraising site JumbleAID.com. The plan is to cross the finish line within just 3 days covering an average of 45 miles a day.
