Little Deers is our local village pre-school in the New Forest. They are a charity run organisation, and as such are always looking for ways of raising funds for the school, and after a friend asked if I would like to enter the New Forest half marathon, I thought that it would be nice to raise money for a local Forest charity. Both my daughters have gone to Little Deers and loved the time they spent there. Daisy is just beginning her last year there before going on to the village school. This year the school was under threat of closure due to lack of funds and committee members, but with a new committee and help from the parish council Little Deers has managed to stay open. But they are still in desperate need of funds to ensure this fantastic school does not face closure again in the future. Lucy Marsh is running the half marathon with me, and as a personal trainer has been amazing in helping me train for this race. We are hoping to complete the race in under two hours and so with four weeks to go we are hopefully well on our way to finishing the race in a decent time!
