Our Fundraising Page. 

Our aim is to raise funds for The Fluency Trust.  We are paying the full cost of our treks out of our own pockets. All donations received will go to the charity.  

The Fluency Trust was established in 1995 to provide help and therapy to children and adults who have speech difficulties and who do not have access to therapy via other means.

As part of its programme each year The Fluency Trust takes a different group of teenagers with speech difficulties on an activity course at the Skern Lodge Activity Centre in North Devon.  The programme combines group and individual speech therapy with outdoor activities.  The objective is to build upon the positive experiences and sense of achievement the teenagers gain through participating in challenging activities and team events and use these to help them to overcome and manage their condition.  The course presents them with a safe learning environment where they can get together with teenagers who share their difficulties and support each other to overcome their communication obstacles.

Over the past ten years they have taught over 100 young people how to manage their stammering positively and communicate more confidently.

We aim to raise funds for the Fluency Trust to continue its good work with young people.

Chas and I would like you to sponsor us to trek from Khare in the foothills of the Himalayas in Nepal to the base camp at the foot of the south face of the Annapurna mountain at 13,550 feet above sea level.  We will begin our trek from Khare on 4 November 2008 and will return to the UK on 16 November 2008.  The trek will take us 10 days and we will be spending the nights under canvas.
