From the 1st to the 10th July of this year, I have signed up for the challenge to trek to the glaciated summit of Africa’s highest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro (5,892m) for Plan International, who are one of the oldest and largest children’s development organisations in the world, that have the continuous task of tackling child poverty and deprivation in over 48 countries worldwide. Throughout the 10 days I will be visiting the Plan International project office, the charity project to be supported with the funds raised on this challenge and various local communities throughout the ascent. My target is to raise over £3000 for Plan International to contribute to the millions of pounds needed to help achieve the stated project areas.
