The IFAW Charitable Trust, a sister organisation to the International Fund For Animal Welfare (IFAW) was formed in 1993. The IFAW Charitable Trust funds research and education projects to save animals around the world.
IFAW became known in the 1960s and 1970s as it led the fight to stop the cruel slaughter of Canadian seal pubs. Today, with offices in 15 countries, IFAW is the world's leading animal welfare organisation, preserving species and protecting habitat, rescuing animals in distress, and providing them with shelter and rehabilitation. Positive results of IFAW's work can be seen on every continent and in more than 60 countries around the world.
