Ian Morton's at it again....!
Fundraising Target: £1000
My Donations to date: £0
Fundraiser(s): Ian Morton
Event: Jebel Toubkal Trek
Event Date: 10th May 2011
Charitie(s) Supported: The Christie Hospital Charitable Fund,
After the success of my Machu Picchu trek in June 2010, which I am delighted to say raised over £6000 for Barnardo’s (thanks to all who supported me!) I have decided to undertake another challenge in May 2011 – this time involving a trek at altitude in Morocco’s High Atlas mountains – culminating in reaching the summit of Jebel Toubkal – North Africa’s highest mountain at 4167m (three times the height of Ben Nevis!)
This year I am raising money for The Christie Charitable Fund. The Christie Hospital, based in Manchester since 1892 is one of Europe’s leading cancer centres, treating 40,000 patients each year, including on average 14,000 newly diagnosed patients – referred from all across the UK - we are very fortunate to have such a world-class hospital here in the UK .
The Christie Charity raises money to fund projects at The Christie which are outside the scope of the NHS. Last year it raised nearly £12 million which funded, amongst other things a new radiopharmacy, communications skills training for nursing staff and a new state-of-the-art surgical robot. The Charity also helps to fund ongoing ground-breaking research into a disease that, sadly will affect 1-in-3 of us directly during our lives.

Any money raised will go directly to the Charity – all costs of the trip are being met from my own pocket. I am trying to raise a minimum of £1000 and would be very grateful (as will the charity) if you feel able to support . Many thanks
