LIVERPOOL HALF MARATHON - SUNDAY 28TH MARCH 2010:

Hi,

On Sunday 28th March 2010 I will be running the Liverpool Half Marathon which is 13.1miles. For those of you who know me well will understand that this is a little bit of a challenge for me!!

I intend to raise as much money as possible to support two charities with any money raised being split 50/50 between the two charities. The charities I will be supporting are 'Clic Sargent' and the ‘Harvey Jones Appeal Fund' also known as ‘Give Harvey a Chance'. Below is some information on the charities I am supporting.

Clic Sargent is the UK's leading children's cancer charity and provides excellent support to children and their families that are affected by cancer. I have chosen to support this charity as during the last year I have been made aware of the excellent support this charity provides to families by a good friend who for him and his family the support and care provided by Clic Sargent has been fantastic and has helped the family through this difficult time.

Harvey Jones Appeal Fund - Harvey Jones is a local child that was born with a rare brain condition Septo Optic Dysplasia. Harvey is registered blind and also suffers from several other physical conditions as a result of this condition. Harvey has been given the chance to travel to China to have new umbilical stem cell treatment, Harvey has already been out to Chine once and received the first step of this treatment and so far the results have been very encouraging. The treatment has worked miracles for other children who suffer from this condition and has resulted in them being able to see.

Harvey will need to return to China for a number of visits to continue with this treatment and hopefully improve this condition. The cost of the trip to China and the specialist treatment is very expensive and funds need to be raised to enable Harvey to receive this treatment.

I am sure you will agree that these are two very deserving charities and I hope you will support these charities by sponsoring me for the Liverpool Half Marathon.

Charities Trust
