Red Devils Parachute Jump

Red Devils Parachute Jump

Rugby league legend, Steve Prescott MBE, is aiming high with his next challenge. The tireless fund raiser who is battling a rare form of stomach cancer, will undertake a 15,000 ft parachute jump with the Red Devils.

The bravery and commitment shown by Steve has inspired many people, not least, St Helens’ fan’s, Andy Reid , Tony Parkins and former Rugby League player Jimmy Gittins, who will join him on his parachute challenge in at Langar Airfield in Nottingham on June 1st.

Andy Reid’s life was turned around after losing both legs and his right arm when a Taliban bomb exploded while he was on patrol with the 3rd Battalion of the Yorkshire Regiment in Afghanistan’s Helmand province, Andy says he will not let the injuries get in the way of him living a normal, enjoyable life.

Tony, whose leg was amputated in 2009, made a commitment at the time of his operation to ensure as far as possible, that his own setback would not limit his life.

Tony’s mother, Sheila is no less inspiring. Having previously completed her own sky dive for the Steve Prescott Foundation during Tony’s rehabilitation, Sheila has made the decision to jump again, this time alongside Steve and her son.

They will also be joined by Jimmy Gittins who tragically broke his neck while playing rugby league in 2002, he was registered as quadriplegic and was told he would never go through life unaided.

You help and support is very much appreciated, please give generously.

The Steve Prescott Foundation, sponsored by Engage Mutual, has a schedule of events planned for the remainder of 2010, and counts on the generous nature of the public to raise much needed funds for the two charities close to Steve’s heart.

There are limited places available to join Steve Prescott on the parachute jump, which takes place on 1 June. Participants need to raise a minimum of £800 in sponsorship, which will be donated to the Foundation’s two charities. Please contact Martin Blondel on 07971 792859 for details.
