On the 22nd August 2007 11 year old year Rhys Jones life was tragically ended by a bullet from a gun. With the agreement and support from his parents Stephen and Melanie, I and my friend Emma created the Rhys Jones Memorial Fund.
The purpose of the charity is to raise enough funds to build and maintain a Community centre based on the Croxteth Country Park site in Liverpool, this is where Rhys lived.
The aim of the centre will be to provide sports and arts facilities, allowing children and adults from all around the region to work and play together in a pleasant and safe environment, free from the fear of gun crime.
For those of you who don't know me, I am a slightly overweight 43 year old who normally enjoys sporting activity from my armchair,however sometimes we have to do things which are out of our normal day to day routine and I am only to happy to be doing this run for something I really believe in..
