The Grim Challenge

The Grim Challenge

Reading Blue Coat School where I am a teacher is supporting Movember, a moustache growing month-long event to raise money for Prostate Cancer. Running 8 miles off-road through swampy Aldershot is preferable to growing facial hair or so Estelle tells me. Please support the good work of the charity by supporting my attempt at the Grim Challenge.

The Grim Challenge course is used to test Army vehicles so is very tough. There is a long hill shortly after the start before the course descends eventually reaching a water-filled ravine. You then run on over puddle-strewn paths before crawling under camouflage netting. You then reach some man-made mounds before arriving at and running through some rather large puddles. You'll run on to the fast vehicle driving circuit where it is rocky underfoot. This brings you to some more large areas of water and the finish area.

The photograph above is of some runners from last year, it gives an idea of how wet it is!
