Steve's Big Hair Day!

Everton mad Steve Owen has decided to undertake a hair-raising challenge to support Liverpool Unites!

Steve's impressive mop of hair has been earning many a comparison with his team's Marouane Fellaini, and could soon be earning money for the Liverpool ECHO's official charity too. Steve's girlfriend Sandie is ready to take the clippers to his shock of curls, but you can save the 'fro by sponsoring Steve online!

Steve is aiming to raise money for Liverpool Unites by not only leaving his barnet untouched for a further three months, but by also dying it purple before it's finally shaved off on the 14^th of April!

We'll be following the do's progress in Liverpool Unites' column every Tuesday in the Liverpool ECHO, so look out for updates!

Steve, who works at insurance firm Unisys on Old Hall Street said: "I'd been growing my hair for a couple of months and people started remarking about the similarity to Fellaini, It's got me a bit of stick from my mates so I thought it'd be great to do something for charity on the back of it. My girlfriend Sandie's desperate to shave it all off but she'll have to put up with it for another few months now!"

Liverpool Unites fundraiser Tom Woolley said: "It's great to see people coming up with fun and original ways to support Liverpool Unites; I hope everyone will really get behind Steve and support him with this challenge."
