After years of trying to get into the London Marathon through the ballot, I've finally been successful.
I'm now training hard, come rain or shine, and need your support to keep me motivated.
At the beginning of December a close relative of mine had a serious stroke, which left her unable to walk or talk. It's been a very distressing time for all the family, but we're pulling together and hoping that Iris will make some improvement. Seeing someone who used to live life to the full suddenly rendered incapable of the things we all take for granted has been particularly upsetting for me.
That's why I've decided to use my ballot place in the 2010 London Marathon to raise money for The Stroke Association.
