Charitie(s) Supported: Aberdeen Safer Community Trust Limited,
I must be mad, why am I doing this again?
OK, so it's only the three highest peaks in Yorkshire this time but it's still 26 miles in less than 12 hours....
Once again, every penny I raise will be generously matched by my employers Bibby Line Group.
Here's the reason, this year I was approached by Aberdeen Safer Community Trust to help them raise awareness of their charity "Risk Ready".
The statistics are staggering !
In Scotland alone, around 1000 people seek medical attention every day following an accident suffered at home. The true cost that these accidents is probably unquantifiable, but if you consider that each fatal road accident costs the UK taxpayer between £1million and £2million EACH, you begin to imagine the devastating effect that accidents such as these have on communities, business and the economy.
Risk Ready have launched its appeal to raise the £4million to build a unique interactive safety centre/village designed to boost safety awareness across the region.
The RIsk Ready vision and ultimate goal is preventing unnecessary injury and death, reducing crime and improving the quality of life for all residents, visitors and investors in the North East of Scotland.
As UK taxpayers we are all already paying for the consequences so lets attack the root cause. Please help by giving what you can, you can help make a difference!
Thank you for your support
Sincerely
Howard
